looking back at 2012

2012 was the year I turned 16, the year I traveled a lot Rome, Barcelona, Brussels, it was the year my blog turned one year old, the year I wrote my first DIY posts and the year I bought my DSLR. But I did much more here's an overview what I did.

I started the year in Finland, visiting my friend Emma. We had lots of fun. Back in Holland I had some sunset walks with Tim.

February was my Ice skating month, I love ice skating it's so awesome to slide over the water where you have sailed once too.

after the cold February came a sudden temperature switch, It was short pants time. O how I love short pants time, hehe. That month I wrote my first DIY, witch meant a huge increasing of my blog statics.

In April I went to Terschelling with school there we had to make a map of a piece of land. It was fun being outside with my friends. That month I also got my SLR camera, a fifty year old Zenit-E.

In May I bought my DSLR camera, and it was worth its price. That month I also had my one year relationship anniversary with my boyfriend Tim.

June was my birthday, we had a bonfire in my backyard. I went to a musical about the second world war, that's the airplane picture. And I went to the biggest flea market from Holland.

In July the summer vacation started, and Emma visited me for two weeks, we had a great time. But just before the vacation I had a yumyum birthday high-tea to celebrate the birthday of a friend of mine. I also visited Tim in his vacation house.

In August our first baby chicken was born. I went to see the sunrise with Emma. we celebrated our one year bloggership. Isn't my blog cute with its little party hat, for some reason he didn't eat his cake. And I went to buitenkunst, You could translate that as  outsideart, a camping where you can go to art workshops each day.

In September the rest of our baby chickens where born. Further I enjoyed the last month of summer eating pizza and watching sunsets.

In October we went to Barcelona. And our chicks grew up a bit as you see.

ROMA, in November I was in Rome, O gosh what a beautiful time we had. I was there with school. In Holland I wore my winter clothing but there I didn't even wore a jacket. It was great.

In December the first snow fell, but that only lasted a day or two. I went to my first concert. And today I'm celebrating new year.

I wish you all a very happy 2013

*I stole this idea from my friend Emma.

sweet hollidays

O sweet holidays, two entire weeks of lazy sleepy mornings and afternoons with my boy. Today we went out for a walk and he took the pics, I can't take pictures of myself of course pretty much all the pictures of myself here are taken by him. The day after tomorrow were going to Brussels together. O how I love vacations, two entire weeks sleeping eleven hours a night. I hope you all had a nice Christmas and I wish you all a very happy new year, have you already made some new years resolutions? I'm considering a photo a day project aka project 365.
Dont forget I'm offering free adds, I'm quite a bit disapointed in you guys since I have only one reaction

DIY doily bags

I made these tree bags with only two simple materials, a doily and a piece of string. you could use them as gift wrapping or to put your socks in so they wont spread out trough your suitcase when you travel. Its a good way to repurpose old dolly's, or perhaps to get a bit of a vintage look under the Christmas tree I thought of this when I was making my homework, hehe.

"Maybe I'm just a crazy fool
Who lives by a crazy rule
To bring happy thoughts
Happy thoughts to you"

That's one of my favorite quotes of them. And I've been to their concert, and it was lovely. The singer made some funny jokes like replacing the sentence 'happy thoughts to you' with 'cause happy thoughts are cool' and he told story's about the songs, par example he had bullied someone when he was young because he stuttered, and now his own son stutters, and he regrets that he bullied the boy, and wrote a song about it called better be kind.
here's two of my other favorite qoutes from racoon:
"Flowers pop out of the street, everywhere I place my feet"
"Please don't give up the fight, for no reason"
"close your eyes you might see something beautiful"

Racoon is a dutch band and they made 7 albums so far so there is much to listen. their big hit (in the Netherlands) is love you more, that's a great song. The pictures here are made by Tim, but edited by me. He did brought his camera and I forgot.

first days of snow

the first snow has fallen here in the Netherlands. I've got some mixed up feelings about snow, at one side its cozy and a white landscape looks nice, but I hate and I really do hate riding my bike to school in the morning when its snowing and yesterdays snow has been frozen over night, so it becomes slippery and all the bike tracks have become hard. And even though you have left your house early you're still to late at school.
but it will all melt down so I can ride my bike safely again, and I finally have water fast shoes so it isn't that bad. but I'm looking forward to ice skating.

life's for the living

"Don't you cry for the lost
Smile for the living
Get what you need and give what you'r given
Life's for the living so live it
Or you're better of dead"

Passenger is one of my new favorite artists. He has some really great songs and great lyrics too, like "I hate pointless status updates on facebook". I think that one to be funny. The picture is one I took in Rome, in the sunset sun on a bridge. enjoying the warmth of our last day in Rome. just like some other passengers did.

I've been to Rome last week, and it was great. I really loved it over there. I went there for seven days and it were seven awesome days, with so much to see, not so much time to sleep but so much time for fun. We went there with school. Somedays it was so warm in the sun it felt like summer, and if there is one thing I love it's summer. I can get so happy of some good sunshine. the thing I liked the most in Rome was Ostia antica, an old harbor, you can see rests of a great roman city built at the best days of the roman empire. and that combinated with sunshine and friends made for me the best part of the trip and a happy feeling.

Life is a chance to enjoy the world

and you’ve only got one shot.
So you better give it all you’ve got.
~Roland Albertson~
The cool thing about Roland Albertson is that he makes music just for the music and so all of his songs are legally free downloadable here. I like 'no place like home' most. This lyric comes from the song 'to yourself'.

tomorrow I'll have my last exam (for this week) and Monday I'll be leaving to Rome, I'm so exited about it. We're going there with school and I'll stay there one week.
And as 'learning avoidance behavior' I have been making some bracelets. I finally learned how to make a fish bone bracelet.
I also made a book to write my ideas down. I used to write them everywhere but now I can organize them.

I love my life

I love my life. I love it because:
1.I like myself,
and I think everybody should. I mean that you would like to be friends with yourself. And if you woudn't you will need to change something. Nothing (big) to change? that means your a nice person and you shouldn't be insecure.
2. I'm lucky,
I'm lucky to have such good friends and the best boyfriend of all. And I'm blessed with so much more, I'm blessed with sunny days, with warm smiles, with nice songs in my ears, with warm fires in the fireplace, with yummy food, with a warm bed, a nice house and I can make up a shipload of other things.

While writing this I noticed I have so much and there is no need to envy others for anything because I have so much. Of course my life isn't perfect at all but I love it

Photo edit roundup

Good photo manipulation is my favorite art form. So I wanted to share some of my favorites. You should really take a look around on the websites of these artists they have great work. I found all of these on pinterest but unfortunately a few linked back to sites like tumbler, and that means that there is no link to the original website. So I couldn't always find the sources or the artists, If you happen to know one of them please let me know so I can complete the list.

-DIY- double, triple and multiply exposure

I have allways been amazed by the awesome effect double exposure gives. Originally this effect is achieved by exposing one film twice, now we are in the digital age we can fake this effect with some more control. I used Picmonkey to make these two. Click the like to see more button for the tutorial.

my faforite pants

since I shop second hand clothing I have found such nice clothing that I won't buy if it was new. par example these shoes are one of my new favorites, I payed only 2 euros for them, new they would have been 70, because there real palladiums. And this orange pants is my best ever spended €1,50. This shirt I'm wearing was free, a friend of mine had a bag full of old/too small clothing that their family gave them, and I got the shirt. I took it in a bit and putted a zipper in.
Nice clothing don't have to be expensive.

but not all days are rainy there where some real nice sunny days lately. I even road my bike whithout my coat on *smiling*. I just become really happy from some good sunshine.
I also finally made some buttons for the free add giveaway. you can see them at the left.
